Hi,

I have a Lowepro 'backpack' style bag which is great but I'm looking for a 'messenger' style shoulder bag and wondered what you guy's use.

If you could post pictures of it or describe what kit it comforatably holds too that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Gray

G'day Gray,

I have a couple of bags.

Lowepro Vertex 300aw this is a large bag, can carry a couple of bodies, 70-200, 20mm, 28mm, 100mm, 135mm, extra batteries, Lee Filter Kit, Notebook computer, extra lenses, extension rings, and more stuff and a short tripod, water bottle outside. Fully loaded comes in at a touch under a ton.

Lowepro Flipside 300which my wife uses, camera body, 3 or 4 lenses a flash, some cleaning kit.

We were going to get her the Flipside 400 or 500 so that she can have the camera body in it with the battery grip attached, as at the moment the 300aw does not have sufficient room for grip to be attached. But not so much stuff that its not possible for her to carry.

Although Lowepro show a tripod attatchment on the bag, reality is that if you fit a normal tripod to the bag, you will end up looking like Google Walk ABout Camera and therefore I always just carry the tripod (only weighs 10kg extra or close to that)

I used to have a second Flipside 300 with my flashes until they were stolen and I just have not bothered to replace the bag, but I have replaced the flashes and now they would not fit into the flipside 300, I would need a rolling case for those.

Regards,
Craig

Thanks Craig,

I have a Flipside 500 but was looking for something a bit smaller for use at a wedding etc, just something I can put the camera and say two lenses in.

I do like the look of the Lowepro Vertex 300aw.

Regards
Gray

How much are you looking to spend? Jill-E have some nice messenger bags as do Case-Logic but the price between the 2 is massively different.

A cheaper option could be to buy a normal messenger bag and get yourself a padded insert with dividers and use it inside the bag.

How large and how much are you looking for? If you want a messenger bag with famous brand, then Lowepro is good. As for me, I just have a common camera shoulder bag. this messenger bag is less than $30 but also works fine for me.
